Monitor Setup: Dual Screen Configuration

Dual monitors significantly increase productivity for most knowledge workers. Connect the second monitor using the available ports on the computer or docking station (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C). Windows will typically auto-detect the second display. Configure the display arrangement: right-click the desktop > Display settings. The numbered boxes represent monitors — drag them to match the physical arrangement on the desk. Set the primary display (where the taskbar and Start menu appear) by selecting a monitor and checking 'Make this my main display.' Display mode options: Extend (recommended — each monitor shows different content, maximizing workspace), Duplicate (both show the same image, for presentations), or use only one. For users who report the mouse 'disappearing' between screens, the monitor arrangement is misaligned — adjust the vertical position of the monitor icons in Display settings so they align at the edge where the monitors meet. Ensure both monitors are set to their native resolution for the sharpest image.
