Label Printer Setup: Dymo and Zebra

Label printers (Dymo LabelWriter, Zebra ZD series) are thermal printers used for address labels, asset tags, shipping labels, and barcode printing. They use heat to print on special label stock — no ink or toner. Dymo LabelWriter: install Dymo Connect software from dymo.com, connect via USB, and the printer is ready. Print from the Dymo software or from Microsoft Word/Excel using the Dymo Add-in. For network-enabled models, connect via USB to a computer shared over the network or use a standalone LAN connection. Zebra printers: download and install the ZDesigner driver from zebra.com. Zebra labels are often printed using ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) commands from inventory/WMS software. For standalone use, Zebra Setup Utilities configures the printer. To load labels: open the media door, place the label roll with labels feeding from the bottom, thread through the media guides, and close the door. Press the Feed button to calibrate label sensing. Calibration is required when changing label sizes or after loading new rolls.
