Setting up a projector for a meeting room or presentation: connect the laptop to the projector via HDMI or DisplayPort. Press Win+P to open the display mode selector — choose Duplicate (mirrors the laptop screen) for standard presentations or Extend for PowerPoint presenter view.
If the projector isn't detected, check the cable connection at both ends. Try the projector's input source button to cycle through HDMI 1, HDMI 2, VGA, etc. Update the display driver if it's outdated. Test with a different cable — HDMI cables can fail.
For image quality issues: adjust projector focus (manual focus ring around the lens) and keystone correction (corrects the trapezoidal distortion when the projector is angled up at the screen — most projectors have physical or auto keystone correction). Set the display resolution to match the projector's native resolution (typically 1920x1080 for modern projectors) for the sharpest image. If the image flickers, try a different refresh rate (60Hz vs 59.94Hz) in Display settings. For wireless presentation systems (Barco ClickShare, Mersive Solstice), install the client app on presenting laptops in advance.
