Windows Credential Manager: Managing Saved Passwords

Windows Credential Manager stores saved usernames and passwords for network resources, websites (via IE/Edge), and Windows applications. It's the source of auto-fill credentials for mapped drives, SharePoint, and other Windows-integrated resources. Access it via Control Panel > Credential Manager (or search in Start menu). Two tabs: Windows Credentials (network resources, certificates) and Web Credentials (browser passwords). View, edit, or remove any stored credential by clicking the dropdown arrow. Common troubleshooting scenario: a user is repeatedly prompted for credentials when accessing a shared drive or SharePoint. Solution: remove the old credential from Credential Manager (it may have an expired or wrong password), then re-authenticate — Windows will save the new credential. After password changes, stale credentials in Credential Manager are a frequent cause of repeated authentication prompts. For domain environments, credentials for domain resources are managed by Kerberos tickets, not Credential Manager.
