Setting Up Windows Hello for PIN and Biometric Login

Windows Hello provides fast, secure sign-in using PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition. It's more secure than a password because the PIN/biometric is tied to the specific device — it can't be used remotely or intercepted over a network. Setup: Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Set up PIN first (required as a fallback for other Hello methods). Then set up Fingerprint recognition or Face recognition if the device has compatible hardware (fingerprint reader or IR camera for facial recognition — standard webcams are not compatible with face recognition). For domain-joined or Azure AD-joined devices, Windows Hello for Business provides certificate-based or key-based authentication managed by Azure AD or Group Policy. This is more secure than basic Windows Hello and integrates with Conditional Access policies. Troubleshooting: if Windows Hello stops working after a Windows Update, go to Sign-in options and remove then re-add the Hello method. If face recognition fails frequently, improve lighting or set up an alternate appearance.
