Conference Bridge Setup for Multi-Party Calls

A conference bridge provides a dedicated phone number and PIN that multiple participants dial into for a group audio call. This is useful for external participants who can't join a Teams or Zoom meeting and prefer to call in. In 3CX: create a Conference extension (Admin > Conferences > Add). Assign an extension number and set a PIN. Participants dial the conference extension from internal phones or the external DID if routed appropriately. The moderator can manage the conference from the 3CX web client (mute participants, kick disruptive callers). For hosted VoIP platforms (RingCentral, 8x8): each user typically has their own conference bridge number included in their license. Share the dial-in number and participant PIN with external attendees. For recurring calls, set a permanent PIN; for one-off meetings, use a temporary PIN. Test the conference bridge from an external mobile phone before the first real meeting. For large calls (20+ participants), consider a dedicated audio conferencing service (Zoom Audio, AT&T Conferencing) with better performance than a SIP-based bridge.
