Thin Client Configuration and Management

Thin clients are low-power computing devices designed to connect to a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) or remote desktop session rather than running full local applications. They have minimal local storage and processing power, relying on servers for computation. Benefits: lower hardware cost, longer lifecycle (5-7 years vs 3-4 for PCs), simplified management, and improved security (data stays on servers). IGEL OS is particularly popular as it converts existing hardware (including old PCs) into managed thin clients running a hardened Linux-based OS that connects to Citrix Virtual Apps, VMware Horizon, or Microsoft AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop).
