The Yealink T54W has built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to use a wireless Bluetooth headset for hands-free calling.
Compatible headsets:
The T54W works with any Bluetooth headset that supports the Hands-Free Profile (HFP) or Headset Profile (HSP) — most business Bluetooth headsets do. Popular options: Plantronics (Poly) Voyager series, Jabra Evolve series, Yealink WH series.
Pairing a Bluetooth headset:
Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on the phone
Press Menu > Basic > Bluetooth > On
The Bluetooth icon appears at the top of the phone screen.
Step 2: Put your headset in pairing mode
On most headsets, hold the power/pair button for 3–5 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly (indicating pairing mode). Refer to your headset's manual if unsure.
Step 3: Pair from the phone
On the phone: Menu > Basic > Bluetooth > Scan
The phone searches for nearby Bluetooth devices.
Select your headset from the list when it appears.
If prompted for a PIN, try 0000 (most headsets use this).
Step 4: Confirm the connection
The headset should show as Connected in the Bluetooth menu. The Bluetooth headset icon appears at the top of the phone screen.
Making and answering calls with the headset:
- Incoming calls: Press the answer button on the headset (varies by model — usually the call control button)
- Outgoing calls: Dial on the phone normally, and audio routes to the headset
- To switch audio from headset to handset or speaker during a call, press the Headset key on the phone to toggle
Troubleshooting Bluetooth pairing issues:
- Make sure the headset is within 3 feet of the phone during initial pairing
- Delete existing pairings on both devices and start fresh
- Some headsets need to be in pairing mode before you start scanning on the phone — don't scan first
- Ensure Bluetooth is On on the phone (Menu > Basic > Bluetooth shows On/Off toggle)
Removing a paired headset:
Menu > Basic > Bluetooth > select the paired device > Option > Delete
